The association describes long-standing links with overseas Chinese communities in the UK and with Chinese and British businesses. In 2021, President Liu proposed a UK–Eurasia platform for post-Brexit trade under “Global Britain”, and for cultural and creative events.
Ms Liu Ying, named on the English page as Chairperson, visited Beijing and discussed the investment environment and future cooperation with business representatives there. She was also invited to Guangzhou to discuss trade, practical cooperation and a relationship between a UK chamber of commerce and Guangzhou entrepreneurs.
The English page lists, without further detail, cultural exchange with Jinan University and collaboration with businesses in Changsha.
It also records that Mary Hu, Secretary-General for China, hosted the global debut of the Chinese production “Sunrise Oriental” on 21 May 2019 at Majestic Beach, described as an official venue of that year’s Cannes Film Festival. The page calls her “Asia’s Most Influential Fashion Designer”. This is the account published on the association website. It is not a description of the May 2024 visit shown in the photographs on this site.
